to forget even for an instant what we once shared
no matter how much time has passed.

to whisper "i love you" and
not feel the emptiness of lost love.

to not hear your voice saying
those words once given so freely.

to taste the sweetness of your kiss
only in dreams.

to know that you're not here anymore
and that anymore must be forever.

to know how cold a summer's night can be
without the warmth of love.

to feel the emotions I have for you
and now have to hide them.

to pretend that i don't still love you
when i need you more than words could ever describe.

to want to scream how much i love you,
but not be heard for I am destined to silence now.

to get to sleep at night
when all i will do is dream of you.

to not start crying when i hear a love song,
melodies of the memory of "us".

to sit and wonder "where did it go wrong?",
could it ever be again?

to live my lifetime without you,
for the time with you was so long ago.

to know you have fallen in love
with somebody new.

it's so difficult without you here
