horizon's divestiture

@uootem (c) 2002

I confront the edge of that normally perceived
drifting inescapably through timeless space
somehow deep within finding comfort in this place
I confront the edge of that normally perceived
as sense and imagination converge into something new
everything I believed in is now only what I once knew
I confront the edge of that normally perceived
and emotions melt, revealing something else I now feel
for here exists what only the shadows can reveal.

I fear horizon's divestiture and the loss of who I am
this horizon, my only bench mark back from this place
drifting inescapably through both time and space
I fear horizon's divestiture and the loss of who I am
but the misty void of the familiar is soon dissolved
could this be where mysteries of life are ultimately solved
I fear horizon's divestiture and the loss of who I am
as light and shadow converge into something enlightening
the rainbow hues of an ancient past remembering.

What lies beyond this subtle veil forever entices me
as my mind soars into the always known but unfulfilled
for this world of brutal reality cannot imprison the spirit-skilled
what lies beyond this subtle veil forever entices me
as I ponder of what was and is and may someday be
when I at last find my soul's vision and set it free
what lies beyond this subtle veil forever entices me
as in this losing of myself I finally find my Soul
and the answers to the question in conclusion know.
