My first love of adolescence
from a time so many calendars away
when we found love in our youthful play
I cherish your quixotic eyes
that in that time shared secrets with mine.
If I could again behold their refulgence,
find the love that once was their radiance,
mine would reveal that I still love you
with all of my substance and soul
they would seek to show you that
what we were is still meant to be.

But for now only memories of that long ago
are what I have and what I must endure
dreams made of a future... my cure
with you and I near… embracing the love once known
I hope that in our due time
we'll smile together… for we found it again,
I know we were young in those cherished days
but young love that is true remains evermore.

so i wait patiently for you,
but with growing anticipation:
to bring back the emotions of our younger days
when I was embraced in your arms with mutual compassion
and when we would to melt into each other's heart
as once familiar words were uttered in unison
and where our bodies fit so nicely...

we will together stroll into our future at sunset
under the luminescent glow of the moon;
a light that i have not noticed since your love i lost.
i wait for that barefoot walk in the garden
where we once planted seeds of promise
along the same meandering pathways
that took me to places i had never been
where we explored strange new sensations,
in the moonlight of uncommon love
i wait for you to take me into
the fertile depths of your mysterious eyes,
which were never forgotten in my heart
and I wait to fall for you all over again.
