                  would your heart still know
                                                what the source of my smile was?
          Your love so young and so free
                                      choreographed that smile...
                                                    and made my heart dance with emotions
                                  that i still long to feel.
If you had stayed...
                    would you have still someday forgotten...
                                                  who we were... what we were... why we were...
          would you have still someday taken a different path?
                                      would you still remember your love given me...?
                            Or was your leaving
                                                just a sooner than later thing...
                    something that you just had to do.
If you had stayed...
                  would your love still free my fragile heart to soar?
                                                            to heights only lovers can attain?
                                        What we had was a treasure
                  to be cherished... at least i believe so.

                    i surely would have become even more devoted to you...
                                    for i have even though on that cold and dark day of summer
                        you just walked away...
                                            as if you knew your future did not include me
                            but i still must wonder what would be
