Someone once said that
"time heals all wounds"
a catchy phrase and perhaps so wise, this I can see
but I am not so sure I can agree.
For the wounds I must endure came about
from love that was so suddenly lost
when your heart changed and caused our conclusion
but it was just the start of my pain and confusion.
Forgotten not,
the events that led to my demise remain so vivid
And even if today we cannot be
as I have always hoped and have always dreamed
You will always be honored by my heart
for you are the source of illumination that
that brings color to a colorless world.
They say true love lasts for all time
I guess they mean a kind of love
not quite like what you had for me
for that love will nevermore be
Time heals all wounds,
or so they say
But this time my wounds are here to stay
and because of this fact
not even time can take you away...
