can you recall that magical, first love, no one could deny.
We sometimes fought, but we always found our moments for fun...
Two hearts joined by love, beating as one.
Those years of our lives went by so fast.
How could we know, that what we had could not last.
You set off for your life, and I went to find mine.
One star-crossed day under a one-way sign.

The years have gone by, and out of the blue
We happen to meet again. I couldn't at first believe it was you.
I have waited decades to hear you say,
"I still love you in a special way"
"I've wanted for a while to say this to you,
I still carry your memory, believe me, it's true"
"You're happily married, but if we could go back in time.
We could fix it all and you would be mine"

How do I go on, knowing my fate.
The woman of my dreams is not my mate.
I have to, you see, for I have no choice.
I am listening to my inner voice.
There are no time machines to the past.
To help this true love that was meant to last.
