Jacob Coleman, M, DUE February 24, 2002DeAndre Coleman was born Jake
Brock in Chicago, Illinois on June 22, 1971. He was born
in a parking lot to a 15 year old girl and her 14 year
old boyfriend, who where currently on the run from their
parents. They dropped the young boy off at a local
hospital with a note attached to his blanket saying his
name and when he was born. The note explained why the
parents were unable to keep the child and asked that he
be given up for adoption.
Jake lived in a foster home for five years. He was kicked
out of kindergarten for telling his teacher to
fuck off. His foster parents were forced to home study
him, and beat him occassionaly for it. He was finally
adopted at seven years of age to a young couple: a black
man named DeAndre Sloan and a white woman named Harley
Sloan. After Jake explained to his new parents what went
on at the foster home and just where he learned the words
that got him kicked out of school, DeAndre was able to
get the two foster parents convicted of child abuse and
neglect.
DeAndre moved his family from Chicago to L.A. and opened
a law firm while Jake attended a private school. Things
were looking up for Jake, but on his ninth birthday his
father never came home. DeAndre Sloan was killed by an
associate of the man he was currently trying to get
thrown into jail. The day after that, Jake's mother shot
herself in the head out of grief, while Jake was sleeping
in the next room.
Jake was put into another foster home, this time with six
other kids, and this time much worse than before. The man
who ran the home, Ricardo Vasquez, only fed the children
once a day, and it was always creamed corn. He made them
sleep in the basement of his three story house on cots on
the floor. He would then make the kids work night and day
on fixing his house and attending to his garden while he
used the money sent to him for the kids on personal
items.
Finally, when Jake was twelve, he ran away from the
foster home. He stole all of Ricardo's money that he had
hid away, and took a bus back to Chicago.
