Notes:
KAINENTAI
once again fights the Holly's to start things spinning to
what will be a great PPV, as many people would be psyched
about what's going to happen with Bischoff's surprises
and what not. Plus, it's the return of Kurt Angle after
he was injured by the "REAL WCW" at
WrestleMania. He had attacked Jericho on May 19's RAW and
set up this re-match at King of the Ring. Anyway,
KAIENTAI win again.
Now the start of the King of the Ring tournament. Chris
Benoit is just DYING to win one of these, but he fails
this time as he loses his quarter-final to Randy Savage.
All qualifying matches took place on the RAW last week.
Next up, Rob Van Dam faces Scott Steiner, not for the WCW
title, but in the KotR. RVD beats Steiner to advance to
the Semi's against Savage.
Booker T takes on Kanyon in another QF, and the surprise
ending comes when Kanyon beats Booker T to advance!!!
The final QF is Triple H against Bill Goldberg. HHH is
trying to get a second KotR crown, and Goldberg is just
trying to be a pain in the ass. Triple H beats Goldberg
to advance against Kanyon.
In a non-title match, Jeff Hardy takes on William Regal
because Hardy insulted Regal's friend, Tajiri. Hardy,
however, gets the victory in a great match.
Now the first of Eric Bischoff's surprises, as he has a
surprise team taking on Eddie & Chavo to punish them
for not joing the RWCW. The team is...The Dark Carnival!
Vampiro and The Great Muta come out with the Insane Clown
Posse rapping them to the ring. ICP's involvement in
wrestling is a guilty pleasure of mine, sorry. The Dark
Carnival gets the convincing win over E & C.
Semi-finals start, as Rob Van Dam takes on Randy Savage.
RVD is able to move on to the finals of the tournament
after beating Savage in a decent match. Savage is pissed,
because he wanted to be the "Macho King" again.
Kanyon gets another upset victory as he beats Triple H to
head to the finals of the KotR tournament! This time,
though, Eric Bischoff's second surprise was revealed when
he hit Triple H over the head with a chair, allowing
Kanyon the win. Kanyon has joined the RWCW!
Sean O'Haire tries to get his IC title back, but to no
avail. I don't think X-Pac is done with it yet, and
O'Haire can do better for now.
The Outsiders finally get their WWF World Tag-Team title
shot against the Impact Players. And for the first time
in known history, the ECW/WCW/WWF Tag-Team titles become
ONE, as the Outsiders get the win!!! They had some help
from the outside, by Eric Bischoff. After the match,
Bishoff claims the Players will never get a title shot
again.
Kanyon comes to the ring along with Bill Goldberg and
Scott Steiner, who I would make as the bodyguards of the
group, as they both hold a World title and they're both
muscular and mean lookin. RVD, however, takes them out
with chairs before the match starts, and then goes on to
beat Kanyon to become the 2003 King of the Ring! He gets
a title shot at Over The Edge! The RWCW comes down, minus
Jericho, but RVD escapes into the crowd with his trophy.
Kurt Angle is ready to get his revenge! It's too bad
Jericho isn't ready to give it to him. Yes, Kurt would
hurt his former friend extremely bad, but it's not enough
to stop Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and Ric Flair from
helping young Jericho retain the title they've all held.
Angle suffers another beatdown at the hands of the RWCW,
but RVD saves him and fights off the dogs to end the PPV!
