Notes:
Edge
beats D'Lo Brown in their continuing feud, and finally
ending Edge's losing streak. This match marks the start
of a great pay-per-view, wrestling-wise.
Generation X ends their second feud with The Hardy Boyz
with Kid Kash getting the win over Jeff Hardy. Don't
worry, they will once again feud in the new year.
Christian and Al Snow end their feud with Christian
beating Snow in a cage match.
Tajiri beats Scotty Too Hotty easily. After the match,
Christian attacked Tajiri, setting up a match at No Way
Out.
The Holly's defeated The Lost Boys to earn a title shot
at No Way Out.
Maise defends against the men he beat for two of his
titles (O'Haire - IC; Saturn - Euro) and Dean Malenko,
who's just there continuing his feud against The Big
Three, in this case, Sean O'Haire. Saturn is the first to
go thanks to O'Haire. After that, Maise eliminates
Malenko, and then the Maise/O'Haire feud continues. Maise
is able to win the match and retain all three of his
titles (all where on the line).
Booker T and Rob Van Dam continue their feud from
SummerSlam, this time with Booker T getting a BIG (and
CLEAN!) win over Rob Van Dam! After the match, Booker T
and William Regal beat down RVD, but RVD is saved by
Chris Benoit, Edge, and Sean O'Haire. After Booker and
Regal run off, RVD makes it official; Benoit is part of
their group, and they are now The Big Four. Chris Benoit
cuts RVD off before his can finish and corrects him,
saying they're not The Big Four, but instead, they're The
(suddenly, "2001: A Space Odyssey" theme
begins) Four Horsemen! Out walks Ric Flair in a tuxedo,
and the fans go apeshit. Ric Flair makes a speech about
returning to the WWF for a second time, and this time
brining along tradition. Benoit, O'Haire, and Edge all
hold up four fingers, and after a few seconds, RVD joins
in! Flair decrees that he is the manager of the group,
but no one is the leader. This time around, everyone is a
top player.
In a further burial of status, the Impact Players get
beat by The Angles in a feud that ended here. It was an
EXTREMELY long match that went on that long only due to a
shortened Tajiri/Scotty match that had to be shortened
when Scotty was knocked unconscious in the Dragon Suplex.
And finally, another rematch between Benoit and Regal.
This time, the match is just as good, if not better, than
their match at Over The Edge. In a two-out-of-three falls
match, Chris Benoit beat Regal two straight falls to
retain the title! After the match, Booker T and Dean
Malenko attacked Benoit, but The Four Horsemen ran in for
the save.
