Notes:

Generation X begins the night by beating the Holly's in a match that went WAY longer than it should have.
Al Snow beats Scotty Too Hotty in their ongoing goal to see who sucks more.
Dean Malenko takes out Sean O'Haire, making it 1-0 tonight, for the Triple Threat.
The Hardy Boyz beat Players and E & C to gain a shot at the tag-team titles at Armageddon.
Tajiri and Christian continue their feud, with Tajiri getting a title shot. Christian, however, gets the win over Tajiri.
Booker T and RVD continue their feud from Unforgiven and SummerSlam, with Rob Van Dam getting the win over Booker, making it 1-1.
Edge and D'Lo get their shot at the IC title, but with Maise's feud, Saturn, thrown in the mix. Edge is the first to go thanks to D'Lo, effectively ending their feud, but Maise puts out D'Lo a minute later. Saturn tries his best after that, but is unable to defeat Maise. Since their were no Threat members in the match, Edge's loss doesn't count on the scale tonight. Still 1-1.
The Lost Boys get their asses handed to them by The Angles, who the fans are beginning to cheer a little bit (for Kurt, not Erik).
And finally, Benoit/Regal 4. In a match who's only competition for match of the year are Benoit/Regal 1 and 3, William Regal beats Chris Benoit to regain the WWF World Heavyweight Title! It happened when a surprise person ran from the crowd and nailed Chris Benoit with a chair, allowing Regal the pin. Flair chased the man back through the crowd. Who was it? New Threat manager, SHANE DOUGLAS! Shane is fresh off of losing the WCW World Heavyweight Title to Chris Jericho at WCW Fall Brawl in September. The next night on RAW, Ric and Shane, who both retired in WCW (and have a long-standing hatred for each other), face off in a manager match. In a match that, amazingly, was awesome and will compete for match of the year against the Regal/Benoit series, Shane Douglas got the win after a Pittsburgh Plunge, allowing Regal a chance to not defend against Chris Benoit ever again. After THAT match, Flair cut a deal with The Triple Threat. At Armageddon, a tag-team match. If The Four Horsemen win, Benoit gets another shot at Regal at the Royal Rumble. If the Triple Threat win, Regal never has to defend his title (during THIS reign) against Chris Benoit. They accepted, setting up Armageddon!
