Notes:
This is
what I've been working up to. The night started with a
great match between Regal and Saturn, with Regal getting
the win.
Next, I had to give Faarooq his rematch, but I left the
title on Tajiri so that people would realize I'm bringing
the Hardcore division into a new direction. They even had
a better match than last time.
Next up, Edge and X-Pac fought in another great match.
X-Pac got the win, but they both got elevated as I was
trying to do.
Now I had Dean Malenko win back his Light heavy title
from TAKA in yet ANOTHER great match. I tried to book
this thing so it would just be awesome, and it turned out
that way.
Jeff Hardy and Kanyon put on another great match for the
Euro title, with Jeff Hardy retaining and Kanyon getting
frustrated with his inability to get a WWF title.
Triple H ended his feud with Bradshaw by pinning him, but
Bradshaw has already been elevated by HHH. I had to give
Trip the win in order for him to keep his status as upper
mid-card.
And finally, after so long, Rob Van Dam lost his IC title
to Sean O'Haire! O'Haire and RVD put on one of three five
star matches tonight, and it was really, REALLY good.
Sean O'Haire finally gets his due, and RVD is ready for
the next level!
Matt Hardy & Christian fought Eddie & Chavo for
the Tag-Team titles, and they won! Matt & Christian
rubbed it into Edge & Jeff's face after the match by
going to their locker rooms and gloating about how they
were better.
The next match put to end two things: the Booker/Benoit
feud, and Booker's heel status. The match was recorded
before the event, and only clips of all the endings were
shown on the TitanTron to the crowd. The clips all
together totalled around 23 minutes, which is still a
long match. Benoit beat Booker in the four hour Iron Man
match, and a tape will be released in a month of so of
JUST that match. It was another five star bout.
And finally, the main event. The Chris Jericho return
match, against Kurt Angle, for the WWF World title. It
went almost 40 minutes, and was the final five star
match. Jericho FINALLY won the WWF World title in the
match, and the crowd hated it! However, after the match,
Triple H, Booker T, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle all took
turns beating down Jericho to the crowd's delight!
