Notes:
Tajiri
had to defend, as it's RAW, so I put him against Hotty.
This, I THINK, might lead to a Hotty/Tajiri feud. With
more than a minute I think they could do some good, and
it may lead to Hotty's losing streak ending. Maybe.
Hardcore needed something to do, and so did Saturn, so I
made him defend two nights in a row. Saturn beat Hardcore
because Hardcore is going to get more involved in the tag
division when Lance and Justin return to defend the
straps.
Jeff Hardy had to get into a good feud now that he's done
with his brother, and now that X-Pac is heel, they can
probably put on some good matches on PPV.
And finally, Rob Van Dam wanted a non-title match against
Jericho because since No Way Out, he and Angle had become
friends. Van Dam wanted revenge for Angle's concussion
and because Jericho treated him like crap, so Van Dam
challenged him. The match ended when Kevin Nash and Scott
Hall! came to the ring with a baseball bat. Nash handed
it to Jericho, but Van Dam kicked Jericho in the face and
took it. He nailed Hall and Nash with it, and then nailed
Jericho with it. When the ref stopped checking on Hall
and Nash, he went into the ring and counted the pin! I
wanted this to happen to establish the new RVD/Jericho
feud.
After the match, I needed an even BIGGER surprise to
attract a bigger and older audience (older as in people
who watched years ago and left when WCW died), so Eric
Bischoff came out with...Bill Goldberg, Ric Flair, Scott
Steiner, Randy Savage and Hollywood Hogan! Bischoff
exclaimed that when Shane McMahon bought WCW it was still
in the hands of a McMahon, so it failed to get the REAL
WCW fans. Now Bischoff has returned with the REAL WCW,
Jericho, Nash, Hall, Goldberg, Flair, Steiner, Savage,
and Hogan! He said the "invasion" had just
begun. Vince McMahon comes out screaming about the WWF
beating WCW and sending them packing, but Bischoff showed
how McMahon had stolen Booker T, and Booker, Triple H,
and Angle beat The Rock and Steve Austin, NOT real WCW
wrestlers. Bischoff then said he had a special surprise
in the waiting for McMahon, and that the surprise would
be revealed at Backlash.
This causes a MUCH better invasion than the original
invasion angle, and with no ECW involvement. With these
guys, the invasion angle is guaranteed to work,
especially with Bischoff at the helm. It also causes
special things to happen, like Bischoff bringing these
guys, along with Jericho, to WCW SmackDown! to invade
WCW, explaining how the current WCW champ (The Rock)
isn't a real WCW wrestler, blah, blah, blah. With
Bischoff at the helm of things, it could REALLY work, and
it would all make sense (except for the fact that Vince
and Shane would allow these guys camera time). Plus, with
JERICHO holding the only gold in the faction, it shows
that Hogan, Savage, Goldberg, Nash, Flair, and Steiner
can all settle for smaller roles. Hall's always been in a
small role.
Rob Van Dam is also taking the role of the WWF's leader
against Jericho and company. People like Triple H, Booker
T, Chris Benoit, Sean O'Haire, William Regal, Kurt Angle
(when he comes back), Edge, and everyone else will be
thrown right into high profile spots against people like
Hogan, Flair, Nash, and Hall. It'll be huge.
