Another brother from the GREATEST GENERATION has made his last
flight and final transfer to God's Heavenly Hanger.
Left behind is his loving wife and a large extended family, He was more than a hero to his two sons.
He was also blessed by six step-children whom he loved as his own.
He was loved by most and respected by all who knew him. Wallace H Cameron, (aka Wilco, Walis) Colonel USAF ( Ret) transferred to Angel Flight on Thursday evening 7/24 after a lingering illness.
May he rest in peace.

Wallace Cameron Services were at: 1 p.m. Monday July 28, 2003 at Sandia Baptist Church in Clovis.
Mr. Wallace H. Cameron, 82, of Clovis, retired Air Force colonel, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at his home. He was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Cameron, to Arthur W. and Laura E. Cameron.
He graduated from Grady School in 1938. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He married Louise "Jackie" Griffin of Clovis.
He retired from the Air Force in 1971 and returned to Clovis.
In 1979, he married Cassie "Dean" Downey. He had been the Sunday school director at University Baptist Church in Portales
and the vice president of the New Mexico Baptist Men.
He served as a senior official in The Gideons.


He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and his first wife.

Survivors include his wife, Cassie "Dean" of the home; two sons, Wallace L. (Deanna) of Lyons, Colo., and Ronald K. (Kris) of Twin Bridges, Mont.; one daughter-in-law, Nico Cameron of Portales; three stepdaughters, Patricia (David) Brand of Hobbs, Teresa (Don) Bolls of Niger, Africa, and Diane (Sidney) Barker of Emory, Texas; three stepsons, Alvin (Glenda) Downey of Friona, Dwain (Susie) Downey of House and David (Glenda) Downey of Clovis; one sister, Esther (Dixon) Kirby of Tucson, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.


Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Hoyt Welch will officiate the services. Burial will be at Blair Cemetery at Wheatland, with full military honors by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Wayne Camp, W.Y. Mitchell Jr., Tommy Hohstadt, Allen Yates, Gary Northcutt and Jay James.

Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
