Medical-Dental Mission

    Medical-Dental Mission is an opportunity for college and young professionals to discover and serve different areas. By contributing whatever talents, abilities, experiences and resources they have, UP Batangan serves to be an instrument for them to uplift the quality of life of the underpriviledged and children in various rural and far-flung areas.
    In turn, the members of UPB together with other allies on this projects, become enriched with the experiences and valuable insights gained by participating in different projects. In this way, Lingkod Ala-eh Projects of UP Batangan supplements university education by providing a concrete action plan that encourages true concern for others and for the greater good of society.
    These projects rely on individual and corporate donors to subsidize the programs and missions as well as its academic programs. Support may be manifested in terms of project funding, referrals and material donations.
    The organization, together with the support of generous benefactors, semestrally organizes a day of free consultations, medications, and tooth extractions in different barangays in Batangas.This project signifies UP Batangan’s commitment to its socio-civic and service-oriented interest as it truly adheres the true essence of being an Iskolar ng Bayan.

Objectives:
>To provide free medical/dental consultations and assistance among less fortunate “kababayans”.
>To provide UP Batangan’s members, alumni, and other young professionals to discover and serve fellow Batangueños.
>To enrich the member’s experiences and valuable insights gained through this project.
>To supplement university education by providing a concrete action plan that encourages true concern for others and for the greater good of society.

Strategies:
>Come up with a concrete action plan that will provide free medical/dental consultation among less fortunate “kababayans”.
>Organize one day of free medical and dental mission among needy communities in the province of Batangas.
>Tap and coordinate different corporate donors (medical and drug companies) to subsidize medicines and other gadgets/miscellaneous to be used in the project.
>Gather young medical professionals and volunteers to provide free medical/professional services and training programs among barangay health workers and residents.
>Coordinate with local community leaders in pursuing poverty intervention programs specifically medical assistance through medical/dental consultations.
>Gather residents of chosen area in order for them to consult and provide awareness on the importance of health among individuals.
>Establishment of strategic center of medical/dental consultations within the whole day of activity.
>Public information campaign through house-to-house announcements and use of publicity materials.
>Alignment with local government officials in carrying out medical mission to gain public support and awareness.
>Actual immersion of members in the implementation of medical mission with the assistance of medical practitioners.
