This single (both only and boyfriend-less) Korean member of PennYO!, as one might guess, is an absolute sinophile: She loves all things Chinese, including literature, history, landscape, art, music, and, of course, food. The current freshman in the Huntsman program has a severe case of cologne/perfume mania (especially for Issey Miyaki pour home and Estee Lauder Pleasures), loves to dance, play violin, and write poetry. As for music, she adores beatboxers and listens to all types of music except rock, metal, punk, and country. Though she doesn't seem the type, she has interest in electronics and automobiles - her eyes glitter at the site of Z4s and 350Z, and there are witnesses who swear they saw her hug a CD burner in attempt to escape with it, as well as those who allegedly heard her comment on the sexiness of 19" flat panels.

A sure way to win Jeannie's heart is through her tummy. This Xiaoyu (Tekken)-loving Chen Tai Chi xuesheng can¡¦t stand cilantro (this becomes quite a problem in Vietnamese restaurants; she will go fishing in her pho bowl), but welcomes any work of Eastern Asian cuisine at any time (hint hint). Her favorite vegetables are doumiao, baicai, celery, and tomato (tell her she's in denial, she won't believe you), and unlike most Koreans, she abhors carrots. It was through her realization of her appreciation of pork and Chinese vegetables, as well as her growing love for all other things Chinese, that she began to believe she was Chinese in her past life. She loves Asian bakeries and cannot survive without a continuous supply of boba, more commonly known as tapioca balls (all you Taiwanese out there, don't think dirty thoughts), in her milk tea or jasmine tea. She does add, however, that she will live on passion fruit smoothie with basil seeds and coconut jelly, should she must.

Jeannie, however, is not a Chinese "wannabe" - say this, and it will really tick her off. She is very in touch with her Korean culture and heritage, knows the Korean history rather well, and of course, loves K-Pop and Korean soap operas (who doesn't?). If you are Asian and you haven't watched My Sassy Girl - shame on you.

Her experience at Penn has so far been very pleasant; though she remembers clearly the thundering weather of PennTracks, she loves this escape from Houston's humidity. She loves sunny days, but doesn't mind heavy rain once in awhile. She loves surprises and changes - just not when they pertain to weather.

Hoping her fortune of meeting great friends and participating in super-fun groups such as PennYo! would last, Jeannie would like to close by saying:

PennYo! ROCKS! I LOVE YOU GUYS! ..Now let's go eat and sing in Chinatown! :)
