RULES AND BY-LAWS
UPPER BIG BLUE ARCHERS
ARTICLE I
MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
Section 1. Membership Status
(1) Any person is eligible to apply for membership in the organization, with full privileges thereof.
(2) All applications must be submitted with an official Upper Big Blue Club Membership Application form.
(3) All members must abide by the rules and regulations set forth in
these bylaws and by the safety rules of the organization.
(4) Anyone 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years
of age during any club-sponsored shoots.
Section 2. Termination of Membership
(1) Any member may be suspended or expelled for conduct detrimental to
the interest of the organization, or for cause by a vote of the Board
of Directors.
(2) Any member convicted of a game law violation will have his/her
membership suspended for a period of time determined by the Board of
Directors.
(3) Any membership dues, already received by the club are forfeited
when a member leaves or is asked to leave the organization.
Section 3. Dues
(1) All members will be required to pay annual dues as set by the club.
Dues will be owed on April of every year. Dues are as follows:
$40 - Family |
$30 - Single |
$15 - Junior (18 and under) |
$20 - Indoor Range Key |
(2) Dues for new members joining after October 1st will be one half of the amounts listed above.
(3) Family dues shall cover all dependents under one roof, including college students.
Article II
Board of Directors
Section 1. Term of Board of Directors
(1) Officers shall begin their term on April 1st, the beginning of the fiscal year.
(2) The Board of Directors shall consist of a President, Vice
President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Range Directors (minimum of 2)
Section 2. Authorization of the Board of Directors
(1) The Board of Directors shall have the power to enact all rules and
bylaws of the Upper Big Blue Archers Club.
(2) The Board of Directors shall have control and management of all
property of the organization subject to the will of the membership.
(3) At the meetings of the Board of Directors, a simple majority of
those present shall constitute a quorum.
(4) The board of Directors shall appoint individuals from the Board to
be authorized for the purpose of withdrawing funds from the bank with
which they are on deposit. (2 signatures on checks)
Article III
Duties of the officers
Section 1. Duties of the President
(1) Serve as President of the Board of Directors.
(2) Preside over all meetings
(3) Provide the Secretary with all agenda to all meetings.
(4) Oversee all activities of the organization.
(5) Oversee all officers.
(6) Appoint committees when necessary
Section 2. Duties of the Vice President
(1) Server on the Board of Directors
(2) Preside over all meetings and/or functions should the president be unavailable.
Section 3. Duties of the Secretary
(1) Serve on the Board of Directors
(2) Maintain record of minutes and procedures.
(3) Be responsible for updating the Bylaws.
(4) Post/publish the time and place of all club meetings and functions.
(5) Be responsible for all correspondence necessary for the completion
of the Upper Big Blue Archers business.
Section 4. Duties of the Treasurer
(1) Serve on the Board of Directors
(2) Be responsible for maintaining accurate banking and financial records.
(3) Work with the Secretary for the notification and collection of dues payable.
Section 5. Duties of the Range Director
(1) Serve on the Board of Directors (2 minimum)
(2) Oversee the range and supplies
(3) Post all rules concerning the range.
(4) Advise the President should a committee need to be formed to assist with the range upkeep.
Section 6. Vacancy
(1) A general membership meeting will be called by the president to
elect a replacement if one of the board of the Board members should
resign the position.
(2) An officer wishing to vacate the position must submit his/her
resignation no less the 30 days prior to leaving the assigned position,
and shall serve until the successor has been duly elected.
(3) Any officer may be removed by a two-thirds vote of the general membership in attendance.
ARTICLE IV
ELECTIONS
(1) Elections will be held at the February meeting of every year.
(2) Voting shall be by members in good standing. No person shall cast
more than one ballot. Proxies will not be recognized.
(3) Term of office is one year for each of the positions on the Board of Directors.
ARTICLE V
MEETINGS
(1) A general membership meeting will be held on the first Tuesday of every month.
(2) The President has the authority to call a special meeting whenever necessary.
ARTICLE VI
FISCAL YEAR
(1) The fiscal year shall begin on April 1st and extend to March 31st.
ARTICLE VII
AMENDMENTS
Section 1. Amendments to the Bylaws
(1) These Bylaws may be added to, amended, altered, or repealed by a
two-thirds votes of the general membership in attendance at any meeting
or special meeting called for the purpose.
Section 2. Notice of Change
(1) Notice of any changes to the bylaws shall be made available to all members.
(2) A copy of the Bylaws will be distributed to each member.
