Subic Pasasalamat

THANK YOU, PREP 66 FOR BEING THERE FOR OURSELVES !!!!

That was one terrific party!!!

To thank you for your individual contributions
(effort, time, money, spirit, etc) would not do
justice to the event that had just transpired.
I do not even dare to describe it for I know that
I lack the capability to do so.

Perhaps, if we all send in our own recollections
and assessment of our GRAND Prep 66 Subic Reunion,
we may be able to piece them together and capture
the essence of its grandness.

Manny

pagsasama.

it was good to see you all once again.

Good Day MANNY !!

Thanks for the note and the kind words.  Real teamwork and
true team spirit propelled the grand reunion to its
resounding success. Everyone's
willingness to participate and contribute in whatever
measure was the key to success and I guess each and everyone
found the trip back to memory lane so enticing and adicting
that it was almost impossible to stop the ball from
rolling.  For those who did not make it to the affair, they
really missed a chance in a lifetime and it could even be
said, they missed half of their lives. Again, thanks to you
and your initiatives in getting the e-mail train going and
hanging there. I know at times, people just could not
respond as expected due to personal or business reasons but
one thing is sure, they are reading the mails! I think each
and every living soul inside that room that evening had a
great time, way beyond expectation and my hope is that
sometime in the future, we can replicate this. Thanks!!

Warmest Regards!!

Joey

 I (moi) would like to thank . . .

*  my roomates  (BENJIE, BUTCH & FRED)  for the kuwentos
and the chismis (not that they said anything really juicy
but it felt like being dormates in an educational tour.)
*  RICKY for showing up as the epitome of a true family
man.  I hope he does not revert to his "wild and carefree
ways" .  I wish him all the best.
* TOOTS, RENO & BOBBY DEL for really trying to be here
* EDNA & JOSIE for acknowledging that i'm "tahimik pero
MABAIT".
*     marami pang iba pero staggered muna and pa-TY ko.

ps.  thanks, ed,  for  sending the note on why you're glad you came.  i hope others can be moved to  do the same. especially about giving thanks not only to those who worked hard to making this reunion work but also to those that gave them  reasons to make subic memorable and worth the trouble of attending.
i'd like to take this occassion to thank Suchie and Angge for being there.   I know how difficult it is for Anggie to take time off from her work.  Suchie, Ty for coming.   I noticed that you've brought life not only to the dance floor but also  to your table.  Not that the others were less exuberant but you connected with  impeccable timing.  ang galing ng arrive.   only 2 reunion attendances and major ones at that.  (Dec. 2 and Subic).    I hope you attend more of our reunions and keep  Angge from  working too much.

TY to Viol de la Cruz, Tita Bernardino,
Cherry Tumaneng. Hugo Alberto and Ed Panganiban.   I'm glad
to have shared the (lunch/dinner) table with you.  Di na
bale iyong mga asawa ninyo.  Dapat alam na ng mga classmate
ko na thankful ako na naging batchmate ako nila.

Dear Classmates,

Its been a couple of weeks since our Weekend At Subic and am one of
those (guilty ones) who just opens the Inbox and reads the mail. Not
knowing what to write and still agog over our Very Senior Prom Night, I
thought of just leaving it to you Guys to "gosh and wow" over our
Reunion.

Last night as I went to bed, vivid images of 1962 at the fourth floor of
the Rizal Hall alternating with images of our Weekend At Subic flashed
through my head. It was awesomely wonderful, I hardly slept as I matched
our faces then and now, reliving how I knew each of you then 30+ odd
years ago. Then I knew I had to write you Guys about this........

Just wanted to say Thank you for being my Classmates and being there in
1962 thru 1966 when we were young and raw and malleable like bits of
unshaped clay. What we are now was, in large part, formed during those
years. Each of us shaping ourselves and unknowingly influencing the
shape of each other's values and aspirations as we grew together in high
school under the tutelage of our beloved faculty.

In Subic, time not only stood still for us, we turned back the hands of
time. Thank you Classmates for that Precious Weekend at Subic. These
fond memories will linger and have found a special place in each one's
heart as we Cruise through the Golden Years of our Lives.

Thank you Classmates for the Anticipation each one of us now have as we
eagerly look forward to a Repeat of our Nostalgic Trip down Memory Lane
in 2005. That's something really worth waiting for! Now that all has
been said and done, Lets Do It Again Guys because to be with You, dear
Classmates just feels So Good!!!

Happy New Year to All!!!

Euly aka Bibot

Dear friends,

As New Year's Eve breaks dawn here in New Jersey, USA, I want to wish you all- a joyous 2001 year, kisses, thanks,  and the continuation of the undying  UP Prep 66 soul towards the third millennium.

Please repeat eloquence of Jerry, and Edna (really) for me- as they expressed nearly all of the inner glow I have been reveling in. This singular sharing event,  will keep my drive for the next half century of my humanity- on the appropriately light and directed course, I believe.

Jerry, I do not believe that our stage is autumn- we are in the suspended summer- where fruits blossom after a hard long winter, and the struggle of spring over ice.  Be it known that the unity of ideals brought on by the exposure to the best mentors our country could provide, in our impressionistic years- gave us, our group. Globally, we are a minority though, and even as we may think we have not made a difference ourselves, I believe we have touched some people  enough- by the lifelong steps we had taken in our aspirations to give back, to share, to make our little work and home -worlds- somewhat better.   The realization that the  majority of governmental or other authorities' lack of the positive commitments that we have dedicated ourselves to becoming- is no reason for pause or sadness. Here, we all reflect our positive outlook, and our caring, and our go getting, comical, kindly selves- in each other.  It only took a few organizing key people to gather us together. !

You have all made a difference to me, and your children, life partner, and the country you write about or live in.  That is why, I believe  I was so happy- and all had a good time.

When the reunion is in the US, I would like to offer  my home, and be one of the hosts in the NJ NY area, and I would be glad to have Divina, Naomi, Edna, join me.  Aside from the "pabidahan"- I am only 45 min away from Philadelphia, and 2 hours from Washington DC- for three years from now.  Anyone of you is welcome to stay in my home, for any sightseeing or travel trip to the Northeast USA.  A  place in California is also quite convenient to me. Modesta Orque still communicates with me, and will help in San Francisco.

Again, to Ray, EQ, Ed, Joey, Liz, Manny, Euli, Jesse, Gilli- Nagpapasalamat ako ng buong puso. Manigong Bagong Taon sa inyo!

Nagmamahal,

Myrna Lopez Soriano
