What is Gravel Surfing??
Gravel Surfing is riding your BMW GS motorcycle on dirt roads. The GS in the name of our motorcycles comes from the German words Gelande Strasse which translates roughly to road and track. We thought Gravel Surfing was more appropriate. The type of riding we do varies from touring on well-formed gravel roads to day rides on fire trails in the National Parks and State Forests surrounding Canberra, Australia. As you probably know there are many benefits to riding on gravel roads. I have yet to see a radar trap or speed camera on a gravel road. There is less traffic, less built up areas and more wild life (sometimes not such a good thing). We try to organise a day ride or a weekend away once a month. Up Coming RidesSeptember 20/21 A gravel surfing route to the ACT BMW club weekend at Bermagui - Leave Tharwa at 8.30am
