History of Hang Gliding & Paragliding

[ Prone Hiway standard ]

The parched ground of the Wessex region in the summer of 1976 is evident in this photo.

The glider here was made by Hiway Hang Gliders of Brighton, Sussex. The Hiway featured a crosstube strong enough so that if a side cable failed, the airframe would not collapse. Even so, the Hiway was lighter than most standard rogallos.
