History of Hang Gliding & Paragliding

[ WestburyP.jpg ]
This photo by hang gliding historian Justin Parsons captures the streamlined airfoil and absence of upper rigging in a modern 'class 2' hang glider.

Unlike the Icarus and the Fledge these types are not only 'topless' but in the structural sense 'bottomless' too. Their strength in both negative and positive loading is in the carbon composite leading edge spars.
