My Tea Party Page
The Tea Party are a multi-platinum powerhouse often described as "Canada's most sonically ambitious rock outfit". Since 1994, the group has received 9 Juno nominations and 22 MuchMusic award nominations. In March of 1994, the group became the first Canadian artists to perform an internet only concert. In June 2000, they were the first Canadians to offer their songs online as secure downloads. The Tea are very much a live band centered around rhythm and emotion.
Originally from Windsor ON, the three high school friends formed The Tea Party in 1990. Previous band arrangements included a brief stint as The Stickmen (which apparently featured Stuart on vocals), The Suspects (named by Jeff Martin and Jeff Burrows' fathers) and The Jigsaw Affair.
The name Tea Party comes from Jack Kerouac, Allan Ginsburg and William Burroughs. They would say "let's have a tea party" which meant they were going to get high and read poetry.
I love the Tea Party because of their original sound and amazing instrumental talent. I go to see them whenever they are in London and the concerts are always amazing.
