About Us Background As the trend of urbanization continues, local governments face greater demands from the increasing urban population. To aid the local governments in developing their capacity to respond to the challenge, the Local Government Academy (LGA) has taken the lead in institutionalizing the Urban Managers Development Program, with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UN HABITAT. Mandate and Functions The Urban Leadership and Management Unit of the LGA was
formed by the LGA Board of Trustees to oversee the development and implementation
