There's a long history leading up to this character. For years, I was known as Urd on the various God Wars muds. For a while I took the secondary name of Calisto (back on Apocalypse and a few others). All the while, my journey has been documented in various different websites (listed at the end of this page).

My first mud was back in 1991. It was telnet only in those days, but we did have fun. Player killing or even stealing was greatly frowned upon and the emphasis of the game was on role playing. Consequently, when I started mudding again on God Wars US, I continued role playing. Unfortunately, God Wars has never been about role playing. My character and persona that I created became involved with Zarkas (one of the original God War folks whom the Demon class was actually created for). This lead to about 5 years of pretension where I told everyone that I was a girl. That was a lie and I've paid the price for that dishonesty.

I have been an immortal or implementor on many different muds (at least 15) and am currently an implementor at the Legend of Chrystancia along with Matt and Marianne (Tijer and Hannah for those of you who know them).

The name, Escaflowne, comes from a japanese animation series that I watched recently. I greatly enjoyed it (except the ending) and decided to use that as my nickname when I got back into mudding. Urd still exists and may some day rise again.
