Man arrested over murder of Indonesian prosecutor
Indonesian police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a prosecutor
in Central Sulawesi province who had been handling corruption and terrorism cases.
Police did not give the suspect's identity but said he was arrested after residents
matched his face with flyers distributed after the drive-by shooting of Ferry Silalahi in
the provincial capital Palu last month.
A national police spokesman said Silalahi had been working in Palu for more than a
year. He handled a variety of cases including corruption and terrorism.
Police said he was one of the prosecutors handling the case of three suspected
Jemaah Islamiyah members whose convictions for terrorism were overturned last
month by an appeal court.
Parts of Central Sulawesi have been plagued by years of intermittent Christian-Muslim
violence.
