More violence in Aceh
An Indonesian soldier and three suspected separatist rebels were killed in the latest
violence in the restive province of Aceh.
Indonesian military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Asep Sapari says the army
sargeant was shot dead in a remote village in Bireuen district late Saturday.
On friday troops had shot dead three rebels in separate clashes in the districts of
North Aceh and Aceh Jaya.
Meanwhile, soldiers raiding suspected rebel hideouts in North Aceh, Nagan Raya and
West Aceh districts say they have captured three guerrillas.
There was no immediate comment available from GAM officials.
