Jakarta disappointed by release of Aceh leaders
Indonesia says it would have preferred to see two exiled Aceh separatist leaders who
were freed from Swedish custody for lack of evidence, remain behind bars.
A Stockholm court has ordered the release of self-styled Aceh foreign minister Zaini
Abdullah and "prime minister" Malik Mahmud, saying prosecutors had not presented
enough evidence to justify their further detention.
Indonesia's foreign ministry spokesman Marty Natalegawa says the decision has no
bearing to the mens' status as suspects in grave violations of international law.
Sweden arrested three Free Aceh Movement leaders on Tuesday.
Hasan di Tiro was not taken into custody due to his advanced age and poor health.
