Em Named Suspect in Assassination of Prosecutor Silalahi
TEMPO Interactive, Palu, Central Sulawesi:Central Sulawesi Police named Em as the
main suspect in the assassination of prosecutor Ferry Silalahi (46) that took place on
Wednesday (26/05).
"After being questioned intensively by National Police (Polri) headquarters and Central
Sulawesi Police, Em was finally named as a suspect," Central Sulawesi Police chief,
Brig. Gen. Taufik Ridha, told reporters at the Central Sulawesi Police headquarters
(HQ) on Friday (04/06).
Ridha said that Em was arrested in Donggulu village, Ambipabo sub district, Central
Sulawesi, around 90 kilometers north of Palu city on Wednesday night (02/06) by a
joint team of National Police headquarters (HQ), Central Sulawesi Police and Palu
Police.
According to Ridha, the police are still hunting the other suspects who are likely still
to be in Central Sulawesi province.
"I hope we can arrest the other suspects in the near future," he said.
Ridha went on to say that the police were still carrying out an investigation to find out
whether or not the suspect was indeed involved in a terrorism case.
"We're still investigating whether or not the suspect has indeed been involved in the
terrorism case handled by the late prosecutor Ferry Silalahi," he stated.
Ridha said that 15 people had been questioned in relation to the case.
All witnesses, he added, were provided with protection so that they would feel safe in
