National Police Arrest Bombing Mastermind
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The National Police have arrested D aka Kital, a bombing
masterminds, in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
National Police headquarters (HQ)'s deputy head of detectives and crimes board,
Insp. Gen. Dadang Garnida, made this statement to reporters in a press conference
held at the National Police HQ, Jakarta, on Monday(28/06).
"D was arrested as he was attempting to commit another bombing. He is now being
questioned by us," said Garnida.
According to him, D was arrested by a joint team of West Nusa Tenggara Police and
National Police HQ personnel.
The police have plans to reveal the network of D's group.
Garnida also stated that D was a member of a group led by terrorist suspect Andi
Suryana, who was arrested about six months ago in Surabaya, East Java.
"D is among 12 suspects in Andi Suryana's group. We're still investigating his role,"
he said.
The National Police HQ reportedly succeeded in arresting Noordin Mohamad Top, the
mastermind of Bali bombing and JW Marriott Hotel bombing in Jakarta.
However, Garnida denied this rumor.
"We did not arrest Noordin. However, the people that we have arrested are indeed
related to his case. We're still investigating this," said Garnida. (Martha Warta -
