ADVERB
(Pang-abay)

What are adverbs? This was the most complicated lesson to me when I was still in Grade 3. But later, I understood it. Adverbs can only be added to adjectives, verbs, and an adverb itself. Examples of adverbs are tunay na, totoo, and talaga (really, truly, etc.)

Examples:

Tunay na mabilis tumakbo si Juan.
Juan can run really fast.

Totoong malakas sumuntok ang boksingerong iyon.
That boxer can truly punch powerfully.

Talagang magkakatotoo ang pangarap mo.
Your dreams will really come true.

A. ADVERB OF MANNER

You can just add the words (refer to examples above). Unlike the Filipino language, English uses the -ly suffix.

B. ADVERB OF PLACE

You can just add the word sa before the Place/Location. The word sa can mean many words in English.

Examples:

Natutulog ang bata sa ilalim ng puno.
The boy is sleeping under the tree.

Magkikita kami sa Luneta Park.
We will meet at Luneta Park.

Notice the translations. Sometimes, sa can mean under, at, on, below, and many more words. That's what I meant.

C. ADVERB OF TIME

Here are some translations of key words:

last year
last month
last week
yesterday
last night
today
now
presently
noontime
afternoon
tonight
next time
next week
next month
next year
nakaraang taon
nakaraang buwan
nakaraang linggo
kahapon
kagabi
ngayon
ngayon
ngayon
tanghali
hapon
ngayong gabi
susunod
susunod na linggo
susunod na buwan
susunod na taon

NOTE: There's no such word as kagahapon. The right word is kahapon which means yesterday.
