Alexander Montez

Real name: Alexander Montez
Occupation: Curator of the Justice Society of America Museum and Memorial
Base of Operations: New York City
Marital Status: Single
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 155
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
First Appearance: JSA #26 (September, 2001)

Alexander Montez is cousin to Yolanda Montez, the young heroine who had a brief career as the second Wildcat. As Wildcat II, Yolanda Montez was killed, along with Infinity Inc. teammate Dr. Mid-nite, in a fierce battle with the near-omnipotent villain Eclipso. Yolanda's death devastated Alexander and his family, pushing Alexander to excel in college far beyond anyone's expectations.
Alexander attended New York University, majoring in history with a focus on metahuman development in the 20th century. He went on to graduate school at Yale for world history and economics, believing his bachelor's degree would do him no good in the real world. Luckily, he has been proven wrong. Alexander Montez has recently been given the overwhelming job of running the JSA Museum, overseeing the JSA Headquarters staff and acting as media relations liaison for the team. Although daunted by the scope of his position, Alex is ready to tackle it with a fiery wit and spirit that are a testament to his late cousin's influence. Although Alexander is thrilled - and somewhat awed - by his new position with the Justice Society of America, once he gets more comfortable with his surroundings and with the members of the JSA, he has a favor to ask of them. A big one.

Atom Smasher

Real name: Albert Julian Rothstein
Occupation: Custom car designer, former auto repairman
Base of Operations: New York City
Marital Status: Single
Height: 7' 6"
Weight: 297 (700 lbs at full height)

First Appearance: ALL STAR SQUADRON #25 (September, 1983)

Grandson of Terry Curtis (the villain known as Cyclotron) and godson of the Golden Age Atom, Al Rothstein is quite literally, a living legacy. Having inherited super-human strength as a result of his grandfather's atomic-powered physiology, Rothstein took the alias of Nuklon and became a charter member of the second-generation super-hero team Infinity, Inc.,
Subsequent exposure to thorium radiation gave Rothstein limited control over his molecular structure. This manifested itself in his ability to modulate the size and density of his body. Recently, however, his body's density seems to have stabilized.
Having abandoned his Nuklon identity, Rothstein has now taken the name Atom Smasher, a nod to both Cyclotron and the Atom.

Black Adam

Real name: Teth-Adam/Theo Adam
Occupation: Would-be hero
Base of Operations: Mobile
Marital Status: Single
Height: 6'
Weight: 198
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
First Appearance: MARVEL FAMILY #1 (December, 1945)

Thousands of years ago, during Ancient Egypt's 19th Dynasty, a man named Teth-Adam became the first to be blessed with immense supernatural powers by the wizard Shazam. When Teth-Adam spoke the wizard's name, he was magically transformed by a bolt of lightning into "Mighty Adam." As Mighty Adam, he had the powers of six of the Egyptian Gods: Shu (stamina), Heru (speed), Amon (strength), Zehuit (wisdom), Aton (power), and Mehen (courage).
For years, Teth-Adam acted as a hero throughout Egypt and eventually came into the service of Prince Khufu, whom he would stay with until Khufu's murder. Shortly after the death of Khufu, Teth-Adam lost sight of his purpose and began using his powers for selfish gain. He gained a new name during this period, one that was whispered with fear throughout Egypt: Khem-Adam, translated into English as "Black Adam."
Partly blaming himself for Teth-Adam's horrible corruption, Shazam stripped Adam of his powers, placing them within a scarab amulet. The amulet was entombed with Pharaoh Ramses II, and remained untouched until the late 20th century, when husband-and-wife archaeologists C.C. and Marilyn Batson uncovered it. The couple were brutally murdered by an associate, Theo Adam, who soon after unlocked the secret of the scarab and tapped into Black Adam's power and memories. The Batsons' son, Billy, was chosen by the wizard Shazam as his new champion, Captain Marvel.
With help from two other inheritors of the "Power of Shazam," Captain Marvel battled Black Adam several times. After a brief return to violence, Black Adam helped the Justice Society of America defeat Johnny Sorrow and the Injustice Society. Now claiming to be the hero he once was in ancient Egypt, Teth-Adam has sought the sanction of the JSA. It seems Teth-Adam hopes to clear his name and earn the respect and affection of the public, though not all of the JSA believe this to be the truth.
Teth-Adam is in a constant struggle with Theo Adam for control. If Teth-Adam speaks the name "Shazam!" he will be transformed back into Theo Adam.

Black Canary

Real name: Dinah Laurel Lance
Occupation: Crime Fighter
Base of Operations: Mobile
Marital Status: Single
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 115
Eyes: Blue-grey
Hair: Black (dyed blonde)
First Appearance: (of original Black Canary) FLASH #86 (August, 1947) (of Black Canary II) JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #75 (November, 1969)

The daughter of the original Black Canary, Dinah is both a world class detective and a master of several martial art systems. Following in her mother's footsteps, she has been a hero of the first rank since the very beginning of her career. Dinah has been a member of the Justice League of America, as well as partner to Oliver Queen, the first Green Arrow. Even her brutal torture at the hands of drug dealers and the subsequent loss of her metahuman abilities failed to deter her from her ongoing mission. Today she continues to fight the good fight in yet another partnership; this time with the mysterious computer systems expert she knows only as "Oracle." As a child, Dinah listened raptly to stories about the original Justice Society of America. These stories inspired her every bit as much as her mother's formidable legacy. She can imagine no greater honor than her recent induction into the new Justice Society.
