F/A-18 Hornet
The F/A-18 Hornet is a multirole strike fighter capable of
all-weather, night and day operations. The F/A-18 is carrier
and land based and will eventually replace the F-14 Tomcat
as the fleet defense fighter for the Navy before 2010.
The newest version, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet was first flown in 1995
and has 25% larger wings, 33% higher thrust engines, and 33%
more internal fuel.
