This is my senior design project. I am part of Team XAR, which stands for Xperimental Advanced Research, and we entered a NASA design competition to design a Personal Air Vehicle, known as a PAV. We were given no constraints and told to use our imaginations to help NASA define what the future of personal air transportation holds for the average person. This is our plane, the XFO-1 Defiant. The meaning behind this name is that 'XFO' stands for Xperimental Flying Object and this is the first model. It will "defy" the historical trends with it's new design and technology, so it was christened the Defiant. Here are pictures and the specifications of what this aircraft will do.

These are photos of the cockpit outside the fuselage. As you can see, there is plenty of room inside the cockpit for both the pilot and the passenger. This cockpit was designed around the inside of a sports car, namely a Mustang, to give that personal affect and the feel of being roomy, but small at the same time.
Here's the entire plane from a bunch of different angles.
