CARD CAPTOR SAKURA

A little, okay elementary level, girl named Kinomoto Sakura is appointed the role of collecting all the Clow Cards. She has the help of Keroberos and her friend, Tomoyo (Madison). The story is that she accidentally opened this book in her father's study and the 21 clow cards escaped. The sleeping guardian beast, Keroberos then gave Sakura the job to capture them again...

Sakura is totally inept on this in the beginning but she has the potential and the fate to become the card captor which is proven through her breaking the seal in the first place. As Keroberos tries to train Sakura to sense the Clow cards and to think of the best way to catch them, they meet Li Syaoran, a descendent of Clow Reed. Li's mission is to become the Clow card master himself but as the two kids become mutual partners and friends, Li starts to have a crush on Sakura. Sakura, though has a crush on her older brother, Touya's, friend, Tsukishiro Yukito. Yukito of course only thinks of Sakura as a little sister, plus he's sort of hooked on Touya too... Okay so later when Sakura captures all of the 52 cards, she is tested by Yue, who is the other guardian of the Clow cards to see if she is worthy. Yue is actually the alternate form of Yukito.

Sakura eventually pasts and changes her staff and her Clow cards slowly become Sakura cards, drawing their power from her star. A new kid is in town, Hiiragizawa Eriol and his two side sicks. What does he mean to do to Sakura? Will Li ever confess his love for Sakura. Does Sakura have the strength to sustain her two guardians with her new star? Well read it and find out!

Personal Thoughts:
Of this series I have only read one out of 12 book, but I like these characters. They look very cute and also very handsome. The story line is more simpler then what the usual CLAMP stories, with less perverseness, although there is still the element of surprise in the end. I have obtained the information on how the story ends, through the good old internet. I reccomend this manga if you don't mind the cuteness and the more mellow plot

I like the ending very much. I will proceed to tell you about it, so SPOILERS!! The card captor business ends with no one getting injuried and it turns out that Eriol is really a nice guy after all. He had wanted to insure that Sakura would be fit for the job and to transform all the Clow cards to Sakura cards. Being a reincarnation of Clow Reed, Eriol wants to leave behind his past memories and he divided his powers in two, giving half to Sakura's father, the other half of Clow Reed. After that has been resolved, Eriol leaves with Sensei Mizuki, promising that Sakura will find someone who she will feel truly sad when that person leaves. Of course this means that someone central to the plot has to leave... Li confesses his feelings to Sakura (finally!) and gives her a teddy bear he made. Of course, Sakura is shocked and doesn't know how to respond. But, when Li anounces that his mother is calling him home back to Hong Kong, Sakura is even more shocked and almost devastated. She then decides to give a go-away present to Li. The present turns out to be another teddy bear! Li leaves with a big smile, naming the bear Sakura and promises to come back.
X years later, we see Sakura wearing a junior high uniform and heading to school. Standing outside her house... is Li!!! He's back and here to stay!! Happy, Happy! ^_^
