The manga is about Kurata Sana and her adventures with her arch nemesis, Hayama Akito. At first, Hayama was a lone wolf who organized all the boys in Sana's 6th grade class to revolt against the teacher. Sana manages to subdue Hayama enough so that they become friends.
Sana is pretty ditzy and immature but her heart is in the right place. She is a child actress who has a very sad past. Her birth mother had abandoned her only after a few days after her birth. Fortuantely, she was found by her current mother who is a famous writer and their bond id strong. She also has a manager named Rei, who was once a beggar on the street until little Sana brought him home. At the very beginning, Sana believed that Rei was her boyfriend/pimp, but of course it was nothing that serious. Hayama also has a tragic childhood. His mother died giving birth to him and his father and older sister never seemed to treat him as one of the family because of that. He was virtually ignored and constantly in suicidal state. He would not commit suicide though because he believed that his mother sacrificed her life for him so he will not take his own life. On the other hand, there are occasions where he tells Sana and others to stick a knife into him.
A reason why I like this story so much is that despite their past, these two kids are pretty strong. They slowly become friends and support each other. It's really sweet and sad to see twelve year olds try to act grown up when the world is so unfair to them.

In the end, it turns out that because Hayama's family is going to move away from Japan to heal his hand and Sana slowly gets cured of her puppet illness.
KODOMO NO OMACHA
I did not read any of the first few volumes, but based on my knowledge of the anime, this manga is very humorous. The ending rocks! I love how everything ends in such a cool place. Everyone is happy and the two main characters end up together.
The story is very funny at times, but the emotional parts rival them too. Many parts of the manga made me cry. Please read it!
The last volume of this manga has Sana ill with a "Puppet illness." She is unable to have any sort of expression on her face, which is a big change from the old Sana. Her whole family and Hayama is worried although Sana herself does not know that is has this illness, which she once had as a child before and was cured by that purple hair boy.
