The focus of this manga is if destiny or will rules the lives of people. A 16- year old tennager named Kamui has come back to Toyko complyinh with his mother"s dying wish. He is KAMUI, the person who has the ability to choose whether he wants to destroy or save Earth. He can either become the Dragon of the Heavens, the Savior of Humankind or the Dragon of the Earth, the advocate of the Earth to rid Humankind. Should he choose the former one, the world would remain as it is, but if he chooses the latter, the world would cease to exist as it is. Both sides implore him to join their side and frankly this high school kid is confused and fustrated, too shocked at being this big impact on the world. Will he be persauded by the prophecies of the two priestesses, the blind and deaf Hinoto and her evil sister Kanoe.

Also factored in his choice are his childhood friends, Fuuma and Kotori, who are the two closest people to him now. On each side of the Dragons of Earth and Heaven there are 7 allies. When Kamui finally decides to become part of the Dragon of the Heavens team in hopes of saving Kotori from death, Fuuma automatically became the other KAMUI, to fill the spot on the Dragon of the Earth team, thereby becoming Evil Fuuma. Evil Fuuma kills Kotori anyway and Kamui is rendered dumb with pain. After he comes out of his semi comatose state, he is more determined to save Fuuma...

Characters:

Monou Kotori: She is the sister of Fuuma and childhood friend of Kamui. Has a slight crush on Kamui. Eventually dies, killed by black Fuuma.

The Dragons of Heavens

Kamui Shirou: The boy who has the power to decide the fate of earth. Leader of the dragon of heavens.
Sorata Arisugawa: A monk from Kouya-san, likes Arashi. He has very strong powers to cast spells for protection and very knowledgeable in that area. Otherwise he's very cheerful and has determined that Arashi will be the one.
Arashi Kishuu: The secret priestess of ___ and hides their legenday weapon, the sword within herself. She is very serious and almost never smiles or laughs. She knows that Sorata has an interest in her but she avoids it at all costs.
Yuzuriha Nekoi: A cheery 14-years old that has a spirit wolf as a protector that follows her and can't be seen by normal people. She has a crush on Kusanagi due to the fact that he was the first stranger who saw the wolf.
Karen Kasumi: A employee at a soap, where they give sponge baths to clients. I think she has feelings for Seiichirou.
Subaru Sumeragi: A person who has the power to disperse spirits. Subaru is a repeat character from Clamp's Tokyo Babylon. He is quiet and feels a connection to Kamui. He has a grudge against Seishirou because the Sakura____ killed his twin sister.
Seiichirou Aoki: A manga editor. He has a wife and a little daughter who he loves very much, often calling to check upon them. He is pretty conservative is probably the oldest among the seven.

The Dragons of Earth

Monou Fuuma: Once the childhood friend of Kamui, he is now totally possessed by an evil being that has power to grant one's deepest desires. The leader of the dragons of earth.
Yuuto Kigai: He was the first of the Earth Dragons to go seek out Kamui.
Kakyou Kuzuki: A dream seeker who is forever in slumber because he can't face reality. Being a seeker entitles him to go to other people's dream and manipulate them and even to foresee the future.
Kusanagi Shiyuu: An ex-military man that has a kind heart. He takes a liking to Yuzuriha and thinks she's cute, but uh... he's too old for her...
Nataku: A genderless creature cloned by the president of the __ from his dead daughters' DNA. He has vague memories of the girl and he has no ability for emotion.
Satsuki Yatouji: A computer genius that calculates all her moves precisely. She made the powerful Beast computer by herself. I think she has feelings for Yuuto.
Seishirou Sakurazuka: He is the Sakura___, meaning he picks his prey and kills people as his hobby. He has misgivings with Subaru, who was his next prey back 7 years ago, except that Subaru's sister sacrifaced herself to cast a spell to protect her beloved brother. Seishirou hates the fact that he indirectly caused Subaru to blind one of his eyes.

Personal Thoughts: The characters are drawn very nicely, but the storyline is so similar to other Clamp stories, where teenagers are in charge of saving the world. I think this story has potential though. X is still incomplete, which is quite ironic because the prophecied day of reckoning is supppose to be in the year 1999, which has passed for us, so it holds less threat. The comics are taking forever to come out and I just read the manga translations online and hope they are accurate. It's very exciting as of this writing. One of the Earth people has been killed, the Sakura_____. Subaru is suppose to take his place, even though he's on the Heaven side. Arashi finally confesses her feelings for Sorata and they do it. I think Arashi is in trouble now, because she needs to be a virgin in order to be the Maiden in her sect... Anyway, Hinoto is being controlled by her own evil mind and she plans to bring the dragons of heavens to death...
