Spring Picnic, Time: 5/10/03 11:00Am - 4:00PM at Natural Trail Report: Thank you all for participating in today HTA's Spring picnic. I estimate more than 100 members (adults and kids) show up, although some have to leave earlier due to other pre-scheduled parties. Most important is that everybody enjoys a lot. Special thanks to Event master Kai-Ling for the planning and coordinating all the details and assignments to make this event a successful one. Many thanks to you again. I bet everybody really enjoy the picnic today. Several members told me that Kai-Ling is now a skillful planner master. Thank C.P. for the high quality pork, Tina, Anita, Susan, and Kai-Ling for the marinate the meat , Yeh-Sen , Frank , H.I. Gary, C.T., and Ken for the B.B.Q. The meat is just wonderful, I really desired to get he sencond piece, but I can not afford. Thank H.I. for buying the noodle and rice noodle for us. Thank Susan for the Salad. Thank Su-Mei for the hotdog and bun. Thank C.P. for all the soft drink and cups and all that. Thank HCCC for lending the 2 big Grills to us. Suan and Jason have to bring kids to AMTA music competition, and yet they take care the marinate meat and the salad. I am touched ! Kai-Ling make very good estimate such that we all enjoy the picnic and not too much left. We also gain $20 for selling the extra B.B.Q. pork. Mr. and Mrs. Powers come in late and still enjoy the conversation with members and the good foods. They have been in Taiwan for 19 years, and are good friends of Dr. Paul Coward (UAH music professor who help us to co-sponsor the 5/24 music event) and Dr. Fanni Liu Coward (UAH English professor who also very good in San-Di-Woo Dance). We welcome you to be our new members ! Thank C.T., Charles and Goang-Shin fro taking pictures for us. Special thanks go to Yen-Sen for making such a wonderful design for our 5/24 Taiwanese American Heritage Week celebration Nanguan and Nanguan Opera Admission ticket. I am sure that all of you get all the tickets you need today. If you need more, please feel free to ask Yen-Sen for them. In order to make sure we have the exact head-count (UAH Roberts recital Hall can seat 232 in total) , please let Yen-Sen or me know in case some of your friends can not come (it is ok, it happens) so that we can invite others to come to this wonderful event. Last, but not least. Thanks Yao-Huang and Evelyn Chuang for donating $150 to HTA. HTA is a non-profit organization under TAA. Donation is tax-deductable. Although HTA's financial status is sound and healthy, all donations are encouraged and welcomed ! Many thanks again ! P.S. I want to aplogize that I forget to give out those Mugs today. (I brought them to the picnic, but just forget to give away), We will give them away on 5/24 as door prize. Spring and Patrick Bedford of Lynchburg Saloon are going to host the 2nd annual motor cycle rally and festival on 6/21 and 6/22. They are asking HTA members to participate this great event. (at the Jack Daniel Distillery shopping square) They are asking 6 members of HTA to help them on 6/21 and 4 to help on Sunday, and they will donate $500 to HTA. We still need you to signup for this enjoyable event and experience. If you can help, please call me at 882-6962 or email me at THCF5361@aol.com. We need to make the deal within couple of days so that they can make arrangements. Please let me know again even if you signup before. Many Thanks ! I am so glad that we have this wonderful weather after so many rainy days !
