Constitution
Article
I – Name and Purpose
1.
The name of this organization shall be USAO Students for Life.
2.
USAO Students for Life is open to all students.
3.
The purpose of USAO Students for Life is:
a. To spread awareness of the
consequences of abortion and promote the sanctity of life through campus
activities and events.
b. To present the consequences
of pre-marital sex and present alternatives to abortion.
c. To provide support and
assistance to those facing difficult choices concerning the preservation of
life.
Article II - Membership
1. Open to all students of the
2. USAO Students for Life will
not discriminate among its members.
3. To be recognized as a member
of USAO Students for Life:
a. One must pay the five dollar
dues.
b. Abide by the USAO Student
Handbook.
c. Should attend at least 1/3 of
the meetings.
Article III - Officers
1. Officers will be elected at
the beginning of each fall semester.
2. An officer must attend 2/3 of
regularly scheduled club meetings.
3. If unable to attend a meeting,
an officer should notify another officer at least 24 hours prior to the
scheduled meeting, except for emergency cases.
4. If any officer engages in
academic dishonesty he or she will be immediately removed from office.
5. An officer may be voted out of
office by a 3/5 vote of the officers, or a 3/5 vote of
total membership.
Article IV – Amendments
1. Constitutional amendments may
be made by a vote of 2/3 of club members.
Article V – Meetings
1. Meetings will be held on the
first and third Tuesdays of each month.
2. Meeting time will be 6:33 pm.
3. Meetings not on the regular
schedule may occur. In this case, members will be notified at least 48 hours
prior.
Amendment I – Duties and Responsibilities of Officers
1.
The President shall conduct the meetings of this organization,
make contacts
outside of the club (i.e.
club account.
2.
The Vice President shall take the place of the President in the
instance of his/her absence or inability and shall become President should that
office become vacant. The Vice President does not have access to the club account.
3.
The Secretary shall take the minutes at the meetings, read the
minutes at each meeting, keep track of official club documents, and conduct
club correspondence outside of the club (i.e. Thank you notes, etc.)
4.
The Publicist shall manage and maintain the website, sends group
emails, post flyers, in charge of correspondence within the club.
5.
The Treasurer shall keep track of financial ledgers and have access
to the club account.
6.
The Sponsor shall be a faculty advisor who has access to the club
account.
