BUICK
2002 Buick Rendezvous
Nearly every car manufacturer wants a piece of the sport-utility
pie. And every manufacturer with an SUV in their lineup wants the consumer
to believe that theirs is the most practical, luxurious, sporty, and
all those other "active lifestyle" adjectives. Buick wants you to know
their new sport-utility vehicle, the Rendezvous, combines features from
sport-utilities, sedans, and minivans. The Rendezvous features lower
door sills/step-in height than other SUVs for easier entry and exit,
a new rear suspension giving the vehicle ride characteristics like the
Park Avenue Ultra, various seating configurations that can handle up
to seven passengers, and a large cargo area. The Rendezvous is the first
truck-based Buick in nearly eighty years--production will begin in spring
2001.
