Hello,
I am curious about your organization, I have heard many of these stories about the co-ops before. I am wondering how many people in your organization are ex-USCA members, and if they would be willing to talk to me about their experiences sometime?
Thanks!

I checked out your web page and I became curious about the process of living in the USCA for free. If I understand your web site, you seem to be saying that if one has problems with the living conditions (i.e. rude neighbors, bad management), then one can take the USCA to court and still live in the house/apartment until the case is settled.
I am currently a resident in the USCA and I definetely feel that I have not been getting my money's worth. The living conditions could be improved and there seems to be a lot of problems with the way things are organized around here. I wasn't really sure how to address these problems but maybe you could provide some answers.
Let me know...

Based on your website I can tell that you live in a USCA apartmenrt (you made a comment on keeping managers out of your apartment door.) Are you that [explicative deleted] who was complaining about barbeque smells violating habitability code? How big is the pole up your [explicative deleted] anyway? The USCA provides low cost housing to 1300 students/yr. How much were you paying for that appartment? 3 or 400 dollars/month? about a fifth of what you'd be paying anywhere else in Berkeley? Yet you whine and [explicative deleted] like the spoiled child of upper middle class Americans that you are. Low cost housing isn't enough for me. I wanna create a trumped up lawsuit so I get to live for free and deprive some good person of housing. You are what's wrong with America. Whine [explicative deleted] and moan about things that are fine just because you are too weak to tolerate them.
You called the USCA ghetto. Have you ever been to a ghetto? I'm from the ghetto, there were drive by shootings on my street when I was a child. This is so far from the ghetto gthat the comparison makes me laugh. It's clean, safe, comforting and full of love. But your only experience witht the ghetto involves losing braincells while watching the idiot box so of course you don't really have any [explicative deleted] clue what you're talking about. You sent out hate filled emails to USCA people, insulting and degrading good people who you didn't even know. Then you sued other USCA members for sending you "unsolicited email". Gee-what a [explicative deleted]-for-brains hypocrite you are.
I'm sorry your experience in the co-ops wasn't positive. Maybe you just need to learn a little about tolerance. Tolerance for other people, tolerance for doing workshift (which you are clearly averse to doing you apartment-dwelling weakling.) Maybe tolerance for a little drug use. Most of
the rampant drug use you point to in the co-ops is bening old marijuana. You ever drink a cup of coffee? Eat something with sugar in it? Drink a little liquor? Then you are a drug user, you hypocritical scum bag. Using drugs more harmful then little mary-jane, I might add. But you don't beleive me, because you are ignorant and uneducated and that's fine. Think I'm lying? Go ask Dr. Dabis Presti on campus about how harmful marijuana is. He has two PhDs. He's much smarted then you, [explicative deleted]-for-brains. And I'm happy to let you stew in your own scum. The co-ops teach us open-minded students tolerance and they show you close-minded sacks of puss just how intolerant and uncooperative you are.
I hope your lawsuit fails along with the rest of your life. Stay miserable, unsatisfied and whining untill you're an impotent forty year old with a fat wife and three kids that hate you. Save your ill-founded ranting for a group of people who care. The co-ops are thriving and will continue to thrive with good, caring people in them. Obviously, your not one of us.
You are a failure. You are a piece of [explicative deleted]. Get angry at me. This email address is based on a fake name. What are you gonna do, putz? Sue me for unsolicited email? You don't know my name and I emailed this from a campus computer.
[explicative deleted] you. Your mother is a [explicative deleted]. [explicative deleted] you [explicative deleted]. Eat [explicative deleted] and die.

Why do you say we. There's only one of you. Don't deny it, [explicative deleted].
|
How did you get my e-mail address?
Please don't send me your filth.
I know who you are and why you are doing this - and trust me - it's a joke amongst the co-ops.

The online advertisement of a USCA event is strictly against our official policy. That you did not consult us before posting this information is extremely inconsiderate. Please remove this posting immediately. In the future, do not advertise USCA events of this nature online.

Dear Ari,
Thank you for contacting the USCA Defense Center about the Lothlorien party announcement. Please be assured that it was not intended to cause concern or to be inconsiderate, but only to provide a convenience to those targeted by the official flyers. The source was an official flyer that was already posted in public, along a busy sidewalk, and the announcement was an extension of that official public posting.
The announcement has been removed from the Web site in response to your concerns. However, since the USCA Defense Center receives numerous tips and requests, and is not subject to USCA policy or approval, it would be helpful if you would elaborate on the reasoning behind the aversion to online announcements (either via another e-mail or on the Public Forum). This will enable the support staff to make better-informed decisions regarding future Web site content.
Sincerely,
Support Staff

Please remove me from your mailing list. Your site is uninformed and hysterical.
Each member of the USCA is far more powerful than any other tenant in Berkeley. They have the power to make significant change within the organization, and have tenants rights far exceeding other Berkeley residents.
I'm moving out of the co-ops in a few weeks, but I've been a member since 1989. I lived in Barrington. I've been on the Board of Directors, and Cabinet. I fully support USCA's mission to provide low-cost housing to students. And I think we do it in a responsible manner.

Dear Brian,
Thank you for contacting the USCA Defense Center. Your input is appreciated, and perhaps you will also consider posting a message in the Public Forum to represent some of the more positive aspects of the co-op experience, and/or to help explain what happened at Barrington during that critical year. At present it seems that only one side of the story is being presented by forum participants.
Sincerely,
Support Staff
