Wasp (CV-7)

According to the London Naval Treaty, each navy could only have a certain tonnage of aircraft carriers. After the Lexington, Saratoga, Ranger, Yorktown, and Enterprise were commissioned, there was only about 15,000 tons left that could be used to build an aircraft carrier with. So, the Wasp was very lightweight compared to other carriers of the time. Her lack of good armor would be her fate, as she was quickly sunk by three Japanese torpedoes.
