The following is a list of all American warships that took part in or were planned during the second world war. The first column tells the type of ship that the vessel is. The second tells what its hull number was. The third is the ship's name, fourth is the year the ship was either launched or acquired by the US Navy. The fifth column contains the final fate of the ship. If there is nothing in the fifth column, the fate is either unknown or is not completed. If there is an "Inc." in the sixth column, it means it is not yet complete. Please disregard any "LT" that appears in the sixth column. Most of the information was taken from Paul Silverstone's book US Warships of World War II. Because it was published in 1965, many ship fates have not been updated. I have updated as many as possible, although many are unknown. If the ship appears in bold, it means the ship was a class leader. The list is not yet complete, but still takes a long time to load, so be patient!
