Below is a letter that I, Irene Moore, received from Bill Billet who is the USFA Veterans Assn. 1945-1955 National Recruiter.  He has a few members who were in the Constabulary and he took the time to send this photo of a Constabulary Soldier on a horse to me.  I am pleased to place it on this web site.
The letter reads:

Our name for the Constabulary guys was "Circle C Cowboys"!  Enclosed is a copy of a picture of a REAL Circle C Cowboy of the 4th Constabulary.  The rider is Bob Williams [3/11/27 to 3/1/97].  Bob was also from Pennsylvania and was very active in the Association.  He along with another York Country veteran passed away on the same day.  Emory Holtzapple died early in the morning March 1st, 1997.  His wife called Bob and Anne Williams concerning the death.  Bob sent a sympathy card to Joan, Emory's wife, and then died that evening .  Really strange.

At our first reunion we had a memorabilia room and I noticed a cavalry pair of pants, cavalry boots, and spurs.  I thought to myself, do we have a W.W.I veteran in our group.  I did not realize we had horse cavalry troops in W.W.II.  Anne Williams still has Bob's uniform, which I feel would be of interest to collectors.

Hermann Goerring was captured near Linz, Austria right after the war.  He had some of his prized horses with him.  Bob said the army later used these horses.  I cannot state whether the horse shown was one of the Goerrings though.
