Health technology assessment encompasses interdisciplinary frameworks and analytical tools for us to optimize resource allocations in health care budgeting, mainly public.  Technology in health care delivery is composed of six major categories:

(1) Medical devices
(2) Biologics / Pharmaceuticals
(3) Disposables
(4) Medical / Surgical procedures and services
(5) Information technology and logistic operations
(6) Decision supports

The goal of data analysis is evidence-based medicine.  The key conceptual framework is cost-effectiveness but frameworks from a wide range of subjects like, medical ethics, are also involved.  Analytical tools could be based on epidemiology, health economics, etc.  The widely adopted descriptive analytical tool is Dephi method for consensus building from experts.
