Milwaukee
The union of two smaller towns, Juenautown and Kilbourntown founded the city of Milwaukee. These two towns were held under the sway of two rival Ventrue, Hrothulf and Gracias. These two powerful kindred fought for decades first using other vampires and then mortal agents. This continued until the arrival of the Nosferatu Justicar.
During the cessation of violence the mortals of both towns merged their towns together to become the city of Milwaukee. Having lost the tools to pursue their vendetta both kindred left the area leaving the new city open to newcomers.
The kindred of Milwaukee were few in the following years due to the repeated onslaughts of the local lupines. The kindred were able by banding together to hold off these attacks until new years eve 1900. The kindred were not keeping a proper watch on the city borders and the lupines got far into the city before the alarm was raised. The prince died in defence of his palace. Terence Merik was largely responsible for the defence of the city and had he not acted quickly the city would have fallen to the lupine invaders completely. After the death of the prince, Hrothulf took the position which he held until nineteen thirty. He surrendered the position after several nearly successful assassination attempts were made against him.
After he took control Merick was able to control the lupine threat thanks to his wife, a powerful Gangrel. Things in the city began to settle down and the Primogen was established.
In the early nineties the prince slipped into a frenzy and killed his wife. Unable deal with the horror of what he done his mind shattered. He disposed of the body and began hunting the murderer. To do this he recruited a group of neonates; A Brujah named Tyrone, a Nosferatu called Jake, a Malkavian known as Jessica. To this group he gave special political powers enabling them to demand co-operation of the elders and granting them powers to arrest and destroy those who did not.
The group was beset by mysterious attacks and everywhere their prey seemed to know what they were doing. The group soon discovered that the killer was in fact Merik and using the powers which he himself had granted them they destroyed him.
After this the group gained great political influence due to the powers they had from the prince. This allowed them to become influential in the choice of a new prince. Before the decision to name a prince was made, the group discovered that the Nosferatu primogen Parovich was a spy for the Black Hand. The group executed him. This left Jake the only Nosferatu of any standing and he took the primogen seat so recently vacated. While this was going on Jessica was visited with a holy vision of the Nazarene, who told her that a stranger would come who would speak of strange meeting with long gone legends but that he would save the city from the greed and cruelty of the elders. Shortly after this vision she encountered a strange vampire called Karl Danovich wandering the city. He could not remember anything that had happened to him since the eleventh century. He said that his sir had vanished and in his search for him he scoured the known world. It was on this search he met a powerful being who claimed to be Caine. He told him that he would return to the world to help avert some danger to the kindred of a metropolis of the New World.
Convinced that the vampire is the one Jesus foretold she begins to pressure the primogen to agree to his appointment as prince. With the backing of the Nosferatu, Brujah, Malkavian and Gangrel primogen Karl succeeded in becoming the prince of Milwaukee.
After his appointment Karl begins to try to make pace with the anarchs having secret meeting with them and trying to prevent open war between them and the elders. Eventually they reach a compromise, if the prince gives the anarchs access to the Tremere chantry then the anarchs can over run them and take their seat on the primogen giving them a voce in the city and a legitimacy not enjoyed anywhere else.
While the prince was in discussion with the anarchs, his sire had made himself known to Tyrone, Jake and Jessica. He explained that Karl was his seneschal and that very soon he would be in a position to take over the city. To do this however he required their assistance. In exchange they would be well rewarded. They agreed and were instrumental in making sure none of the anarchs survived the raid on the Tremere.
After having successfully removed the two greatest threats to him Count Vladimir Rustovich stepped forward and claimed Milwaukee as his demesne subject to his laws and rule. To secure his position he disbanded the primogen and made Tyrone his sheriff. Jake and Jessica were allowed free reign in the city provided the reported all they heard and saw to the count.
Left to his own devices the sheriff quickly embraced two mortals whom shared his views and began to take over the city gangs. Those who counted kindred among them were given a choice leave town join or die. Surprisingly very few joined him, although a few caitiff singed on. Using this extended power base the sheriff began his vendetta against the Toreador. Now that he had control of the streets he could simply wait until they had to leave their havens and spring an attack on them.
During this time many of the city’s kindred fled claiming that the city had been overrun by the sabbat. This gave the Camarilla good reason to stay away from the city during this time, as it had only just managed to hang onto Chicago, after a massive incursion of lupines.
The city gradually became known as a haven for those kindred who were pursued by either the camarilla or sabbat, as the count gave no consideration to sect so long as his word was honoured as law. During this time he flesh crafted a mortal and using dominate, had him run for election. Again using the influence of his young allies he assured his candidates election. With this accomplished he could move around the city at night without concern of assassins. He also granted the Gangrel free reign to embrace new licks to help in the defence of the city.
Last month the city was struck by what was reported to be a terrorist attack. The mortal news reported that the water had been laced with some form of psychoactive substance that caused mass hallucinations and riots. The truth is not truly known. There have been reports of lupines, fae and Tzimisce war ghouls roaming the streets and engaging in combat. Several spies’ that were smuggled into the city have not been heard from in almost a month.
Peaches n' Cream: A night-club in the centre of town. The club caters to people of alternative lifestyles. Its main client base is gay, bi, and lesbian along with a substantial bdsm crowd. All of which find rooms dance floors bars and "services" The club also has a hotel and brothel attached to it.
The void: A techno club. It has multiple dance floors, bars and quiet areas. It has many game pods and Internet terminals Scattered throughout as well as more standard video games.
The Morgue: A metal club: Everything in the club is made from stainless steel and is bolted to the floor. Down stairs is the pit Location of the mosh pit, as well as some more secluded areas.
The Fun Bar: This downtown bar caters to the same clients as Peaches n' Cream.
The City Museum: Elysium houses a rare collection of Indian artefacts and other displays. Also the previous home to the now defunct primogen.
Hyatt Regency: The most upmarket hotel in the city and former residence of visiting luminaries
Marquette University: The university covers a large area west of the river and has some of the oldest surviving buildings in the city. The area has recently undergone extensive renovation at the behest of the new mayor.
M.E.C.C.A.: Milwaukee Exposition and Convention Centre and Arena. The convention centre is also connected via skywalks to the Hyatt Regency the Auditorium as well as several shops and theatres.
St. Joan of Arc Chapel: The chapel is the centre for many charitable ventures in the city centre.
Milwaukee Auditorium: This is the home of the Milwaukee philharmonic.
The Milwaukee Sanatorium: A well-appointed and excellent Psychiatric hospital.
Milwaukee Medical Centre: The major medical resource for the area, housing accident and emergency as well as the city morgue.
