Juri is on the Student Council and is also captain of the fencing club, and deservedly so. She is an excellent sword fighter and only lost by a sheer miracle (even though Juri denies it) on Utena's part. She seems to be in a constant state of thought and hides a little secret in her locket, which she wears all the time. Her secret being that she is actually in love with Shiori, even though Shiori is a constant bitch towards her.      In the Black Rose Saga, it is Shiori that claims her spirit sword. Of course Shiori loses and Juri wakes up to find her locket next to her. While she was able to throw it away earlier, she no longer 'has the strength to'.      Juri is a very serious, matter-of-fact, get to the point person. She's not one for wild fantasies about princes, she is in the Student Council for the sole purpose of bringing the world revolution, and has decided that even though she doesn't like fighting by someone's order, she's in too deep to get out.      Later, in the Akio Ohtori Saga, Ruka, the former Fencing club capatin, returns and messes Juri's life up just a little bit more. Even though she probably does know that Ruka cares about her....she's well...a lesbian and men just aren't her thing.
