Utena is the main character in the show. She becomes engaged to the Rose Bride (Anthy) after she kicks Saionji's butt in a duel to protect her friend Wakaba's honor. After becoming engaged, she lives in a dorm with just Anthy and Chuchu, who is Anthy's friend. (Even though the stupid mouse eats everything. No wonder Anthy is so thin)  She is then put through a chain of duels listed as follows; Friendship, Choice, Reason, Love, Adoration, Conviction, and Self.      Afterward, she meets Anthy's brother, Akio, who is the Trustee Chairman of Ohtori Academy. At the same time, Mikage Souji and Mamiya are plotting to kill the Rose Bride, and so Utena has to fight in more duels agaist those who control the sprit swords of the Student Council, with the exception of Kanae. Her duels against the Black Rose Society are as follows: Kanae, Kozue, Shiori, Mitsuru, Wakaba, Keiko, and Mikage.     Oh, yea, now she's moving in with Akio and Anthy in Akio's tower. Lots of fun. Utena goes through the entire Student Council again but this time, she's not the only one with a Rose Bride. And the sword is no longer pulled from Anthy, but Anthy pulls it from Utena. And that's how it works with the other duelists as well.      At the end, she goes to the 'castle' with Anthy where she finds out that Akio is the 'End of the World' and duels him. Anthy, being evil, stabs Utena in the back and Akio takes the sword and bangs on the door to eternity with it. Dios shows up and tries to give Utena a kiss as a consolation prize, but she gets up and opens the door to find a coffin on the other side.      Upon opening hte coffin, she sees Anthy sitting inside and hey say how it's nice to have finally. I won't ruin the whole thing, but it has a slightly disappointing, but also promising end.
