..in Colin's words
Ahhhh, Greg....
I met Greg Czapla sometime in the 10th grade at school. He had the most henious haircut of all time, and based purly on this fact, I hated him. You may think thats shallow, but seriously, he looked like a metal-head version of Prince Valent. The only reason were in a band now is because Mrs. LaGrady made me sit next to him in chemistry class; all I remember about that day is thinking "ahhh FUCK PRINCE VALENT!" Little less than a year later, Greg and I would form Noxious Waste, where would I be without chemistry class?
At the time I wasn't into much metal, I barely even knew of any of the bands he would talk about. Bands like Pig Destroyer, Mayhem, and Dying Fetus were what I called (and still do call) shit death-grind-metal-core ass bands. I was into bands like the Dead Kennedys, CKY, Angry Samoans, GBH, and GG Allin. Despite our differences we both were avid rock fans and both wanted to start a band with a lot of fast paced riffs, not so much like speed or black metal, but maybe punk, with a little thrash thrown in the mix. So Greg asked Jimmy James Johnson Kirn if he wanted to join this two piece and make us a three piece punk band, Jim aquested and there was the birth of Noxious Waste.
Now, this is a biography about Greg so here we go. He is one of those people that are loyal and kind, but not American. He is a Pollack, which we don't hold against him because he can drum like a madman. He's been in a few other bands: Abrogate, Stronghold and the most successful one (next to NW) Everwinter. All those bands were some form of black/death metal band, so Noxious Waste is a little different and new for him. His past influences are probably why we are the only punk band (to my knowledge) that uses a double bass pedal in every song. Greg is also an avid singer, he tries really hard to get his voice in every one of our songs, Jim and I got so fed up we just gave him a whole song to sing (Zombie Death Stare). To be completely honest, despite all Greg's downfalls (of which there are many) he's one of the greatest guys I know. He'd fight to the death for his best friends, and the band. And to all the women out there....Greg is single and I heard he's packing some Polish Kielbasa.
