Within the past week a few thing have happened that most people never would have expected. First, on September 28, the Rangers signed Brian Berard to a 7-day "professional tryout agreement." Then, Berard actually played in two Rangers preseason games. And finally, today, he agreed to a contract with the Rangers. To accomplish all of this, Berard had to go through a year and a half that included 7 operations, a corrective lens that was placed in his eye to aloow for him to meet the NHL's vision policy standards, and a lot of hard work to regain his eyesight. As you all know, Berard lost most of his right eye after being hit on Marian Hossa's follow-through in a game that posed Berard's Maple Leafs against Hossa's Senators on March 11, 2000. We are all glad to see that Brian has been able to overcome so many obstacles, and even more pleased that he has chosen to complete his comeback with the Rangers!

The latest evidence that Glen Sather is a crack addict and has gone absolutely insane....in case you haven't found out already, the moron traded Jan Hlavac, Kim Johnnson, and prized prospect Pavel Brendl to the Flyers - yes one of worst enemies - for NYR Public Enemy #1 - yes the player most hated by us fans - Eric Lindros. Now, first of all, we were supposedly "building for the future." This was the excuse for trading away our most loved player, Adam Graves. Second of all, I thought that making fans happy was a priority, not kicking them in the head. And third of all, he traded the same players for an injury plagued player with a chance at regaining the spotlight, that he refused to give up for Jaromir Jagr, a star who has not been plagued by injuries, and owns the spotlight. So anyway, I see all of the evidence right in front of my face, GLEN SATHER HAS GONE ABSOLUTELY INSANE

This was one of the first short rehab skating sessions Richter will go through, but he should have pucks coming his way in a few weeks.
