Being away from your loved ones is tough enough, but being a Marine Corps Family creates more challenges than a civilian family.

Here are some simple suggestions to help deployments go more smoothly.

1. I know it seems weird but get separate accounts for the deployment
Separate accounts will ensure NO BOUNCED CHECKS!

2. Budget yourself, and remember two incomes are better than one

3. Stay far away from those check cashing places, they only create more of a debt the following month

4. Start buying calling cards before the deployment, we found the USA Gold card and if you're in California the California Cards to be the best.

5. NO Collect Calls!

6. Send stuff from home!! Movies and pictures of you and the kids are always great! Remember we miss you just as much as you miss us

7. Care packages with cookies and yup sexy pictures of you too are always a nice surprise

8. Tapes of you talking, it's good to hear your voice, and it's nice to be able to put a tape in a  walkman and listen to you any time we want.

9. Letters! Letters! Letters!

10. When we do get to talk to you, don't forget to say "I love you" it's hard being away and we do miss you even if it seems like we don't. Also phone calls maybe far and few between lets not fight.
