Subject: USS CHESAPEAKE - Ping yourself ....

[2nd Officer's log, Stardate 90228.1515.  I am attempting to settle in,
having just arrived at the Chesapeake.  Theoretically, I shouldn`t be
having this much trouble after unpacking.  However, the Chesapeake seems
to have destroyed these theories....]
	Ensign Sereh looked at the reports streaming in from the Science
lab.  "So, let me get this straight.  Lt Murray wishes that some actual
science equipment be placed in the Science Operations Center (that's what
it was called on the Stonewall - the SOC) because she cannot feel at home
in a Science lab without actual equipment."
	"That's correct," Ensign Miko responded.
	"I assume that she is aware that the SOC is merely an
administration center, and that the actual science is supposed to be
handled in the labs."
	"Uh - huh.  I think that she feels uncomfortable around mere
computers - too mathematically abstract, I suppose.  Anyway, we also need
to fix the oxygen systems on deck 17.  Something went wrong with one of
the experiments in Physical Sciences Lab 2.    As I understand it,
Lt Murray collided with someone trying to get things under control.  Sent
him to the hospital."
	Sereh used a lot of her Vulcan self control to keep from smiling.
th'Tellan, who was CSiO at the Stonewall, had never sent anyone to sickbay
- being too busy being sent himself.  On the first mission, th'Tellan had
been injured by a terrorist before the Stonewall even arrived at their
destination.  He wound up in sickbay a second time after his mind had been
taken over by a multidimensional comet.  One the Stonewall's last mission,
th'Tellan had been attacked by the same terrorist for saving the
Stonewall - after he had gone AWOL.  And still, he had never shown stress
like this.
	Sereh's humor fell.  She began to realize that her Vulcan
abilities were failing - maybe because of the bonding that she had done
with Avikar.  She was going to have to talk with th'Tellan about their
relationship.
	"Send some beakers over to Lt Murray's office, and see if she can
be more specific about her request.  Also, tell her that she may want to
visit with Lt Cmdr th'Tellan.  He may be able to give some tips on stress
control."  When Miko left, Sereh started to send work crews to the damaged
lab....
NRPG:
	Let me see if I've got this straight.  We have a stressed out,
psychotic Science Officer, a female Counselor who used to be male, and a
Doctor who is having a total depression breakdown.  Guys, this is
pathetic.  Despite th'Tellan's neurotic psychological profile, I'M THE
SANEST ONE HERE!!! 
	Seriously, th'Tellan is on board and ready to go.  I'll try to
post the new OPS staff later.  In the meantime, feel free to drop in.
